Moderate Care and Enhanced Supportive Housing Milestone operates 17 hearing and 5 deaf beds within apartments in the community. As needed, staff visit the residents in their apartments as well as in the staff office. Staff are also available by phone when needed. Level of care is determined by the ability to meet the requirements identified in the individualized goal plans. Residents in the program do not require the full-time availability of staff but do benefit from regular assistance with their activities. Some of the people in this program move on to independent living. Referrals are encouraged for any adult age 18 or over in need of residential services focusing on the active treatment of a mentally ill individual. Those accepted are not limited to individuals residing in Allegheny County.
